The Silver Chalice may now be considered a cult favorite. It came out in 1954. The movie starred Paul Newman in his first movie. It also featured Natalie Wood and Virginia Mayo.
It tells the story of Basil who is a Greek artisan who is asked to make the cup of Christ. He must travel to Jerusalem and Rome. There is also a man who is claiming to be the Messiah by using tricks.
You can find this cult favorite on video and DVD now. The movie started out as a biblical epic but quickly became more of a showcase for a young Paul Newman.
