The Searchers stars John Wayne, Jeffery Hunter and of course Natalie wood. The Searchers could be considered a western. It tells the story of a man whose family is killed by Comanche Indians. The Comanche have also taken Ethan’s (Wayne) Niece.
Ethan sets of to find Debbie (Wood) over the course of a few years. Along Ethan’s side his is nephew Martin. As time goes by Ethan’s hatred for the Indians grows. Martin begins to wonder if Ethan’s anger has spilled over to include Debbie also.
This Natalie Wood movie was made on 1956. It enjoyed some success when it came out. As the years went by it began to gain more respect. AFI considers it to be the greatest western of all time and the National Film Registry selected this film in 1989.
