If you want a good cry this is the movie for you. The Blue Veil is about a woman who cares for children. Louise lost her husband in WWI. She sacrifices everything to take care of these kids.
One of the kids mother proves to be difficult. The battle between mother and surrogate is at the center of this movie. See Jane Wyman in the movie she later said was her favorite.
It stars Wyman, Natalie Wood and Joan Blondell. Blondell was nominated for an academy award in 1952.
